Does it still feel like the beginning of the season to anyone / everyone? In a way it does for me, having gotten such a late start. IDK the point at which this discussion will mentally shift to mid-season for any particular person... I am often guilty of being in denial too. I really hate winter.

A few pics I took this morning.

This area is ready for shrubs, as I propagate more. Of course Coleus can fill any spot until it's taken by a permanent plant.

I had to go up 2 rungs on a ladder to get this pic. This "pot" (old grill) looks like it has holes because I keep chopping off chunks of the Coleus in there. Partly because I want more in more spots in the landscape, and partly because it's drying so fast, needing water every day. The grill fits right in the part of my workbench that used to have a sink. After we moved, it was not practical to put the workbench anywhere near the spigot, so my husband took the sink out. He was going to remove that part of the workbench but when I noticed the grill fit perfectly in it, I told him to not worry about it. At the other end is another hole that's the exact size of a plastic storage tub. The first few years, I did keep extra potting soil in the tub, but it eventually failed & fell apart from the weather. Now they are so expensive, I don't want to buy a replacement out of my tiny plant budget. But voila! The lid of the grill also makes a great pot and fits in that hole too. It's full of snake plants (Sansevieria.)
