I have Sweet Basil and Cinnamon Basil, not for culinary use, but because I like the way they look and smell, and for the butterflies. So, I let them flower away.
Same with the Pineapple Sage, two Parsleys,three Chives, five kinds of Thyme, and three kinds of Lavender. Had a Dill, too, but accidentally destroyed it.
Thinking of trying some Fennel next year.
