It depends , somewhat, on what it is, that I'm staking.....I generally use bamboo canes for stakes, and some "longer than average " twist ties, for "single stalk" staking. (irises, glads, etc.) And for larger "clumps"......trumpet lilies, and such.....I put the "stake" as near the center as I can, and use baler twine .
