Janet, I'm going to start calling you Super Sleuth!
I'm content it's Red Hickory also. I had kept going to that several times myself. Got a real kick out of the conversation about separating the Pignut from the Red. LOL! At least it made me not feel so bad myself. Big Grin
It would be a lot easier if the different references didn't contradict each other. Even for the Red Hickory I saw on 1 site where it said the shell was thin & another which called the shell thick. Blinking And 1 where it said the Red Hickory was "uncommon but not uncommon at all". Say whaaaaat?????? It got so I couldn't see the Hickory for the nuts! Rolling on the floor laughing
I will check it again when we go out next & check the other Hickory's as well. I want to take some more photos for the database anyway so maybe it will be easier for people searching the database to determine which hickory they have.
We'll call this one solved.
Thanks Super Sleuth!
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
