I once saw a Roadrunner sucking on a cigarette butt... it was wild with agitation, running in circles with the butt in it's mouth. So funny and VERY sad at the same time. I have to imagine that caffeine would have an effect on a small critter.
Once saw a Nova production on PBS. Study of spiders making their webs - you know how all of them make a different kind/style of web. They chose a normal garden spider that makes the big symmetrical web. They gave several spiders a dose of caffeine, cocaine, alcohol, or marijuana. Guess which spider made the most screwed up web? Atypical of the web it normally made?
