Hunted up a, not so good, photo of it flowering and indeed they are yellow. E. agavoides has as one of it's common name "Lipstick" and that may have slipped into 'Lipstick' labels being used. Annie's is 80 miles away but a world away weather wise. They enjoy marine influence year round with lots of fog and most days overcast or cloudy. Plants grow incredibly well there. Our range here is 17-118 degrees. It's an incredible bay area nursery! The selection is large. The display garden is always a stunner! I tip my hat to you.
