How long have you lived on your farm Trish? I know it isn't very long.

Trust me "a good snow every few years" sounds wonderful to me. I've lived in Cincinnati for 34 years. The first few winters were brutal, then we had many years (maybe 20 years?) that were very mild with little snow. Now we've reverted back to a few severe winters buried in snow for months at a time again.

Interesting, I only recently learned of the "North Atlantic oscillation" and how it relates to world weather. It apparently goes in cycles and causes much of our weather, from hurricanes to cold winters and drought, such as your seeing, in different parts of the country, world. When I read of the cycles that have occurred, I can really correlate to the weather I've seen in my lifetime.

Some experts seem to dispel global warming theories with this argument. I need to read more about this, books on the subject are on my "must read someday" list.
