Here I thought by moving them that I was giving them a hardiness test.

Sounds like dividing is the real test. I only have a handful of three year old seedlings out of many,
so that won't be much to handle. None of them are register quality, one or two may be okay for bridge plants, which is why I posted about this one. The rest will be culled.

However, I have 500+ seedlings that will be 2 years old this spring. Time to evaluate and cull.
200+ will bloom for the first time in the spring, and 2000+ in the house to plant if all continue to live
through the winter. Just thinking about this has me a bit overwhelmed. I don't want to keep more
than I can take care of. The last two years, I have bought newer parents, mostly 08- 09 registrations
and am excited to work with them just to see what they will do.

Wow, Michele and Fred, losing those plants after all that time, and they didn't like being divided.
I am going to be especially careful with newer parents and their seedlings. If I can figure out how
to be careful. I had no idea. Thanks for that info. This is certainly the place to learn.
