I had some leaves (10 total) sent out for FrMV testing and got the results back today (The results are attached to this email.). I also sent in some leaves from a friends plants in Fl. The plants that I thought, would come up positive did; Thai red orange with leaf mottling and "splash" flowers and Marble queen which is a known "splash" flower sold out of Thailand were positive for FrMV. What I found interesting though is that a seedling, which I sent as the control, also came up positive. I have never cut on this plant, but it has been in the vicinity of some virus plants. My thoughts are that it is a false positive and the test center screwed up somehow (going to ask for a re-test) or the virus is somehow vectored by means other than just sap transfer as the Thai Orange red and other suspect virus plants (I say suspect as they have not been tested but do show the symptoms) were growing in the same area as the seedling. I would like your thoughts on this please.
