Over the last 30 plus years I have grown a lot of amaryllis...I've had success getting them to rebloom for several years and one year I made some crosses and raised the seed until a few bloomed. They weren't very exciting. I wasn't planning on getting any this year but a neighbor brought me one in a box from on of the big box stores and suggested that I plant it immediately as it was growing. it was and this is what it looked like...more pictures of it later.....That was enough to make me want more and I have bought several. I'll show them as they grow. Here is the one that started it.

Next I found this one at a grocery store. It is 'Alfresco' and is nicely double. It has a 3rd bloom stem coming so there won't be much left to it...I'll try to rehabilitate it There are 5 blooms open today.
