I have them in my zone 4b cottage garden. Woody clumps double in size each year and if left to form seeds, they sprout freely. I never grew them in a pot or even protected them in winter. Clumps will divide nicely without using a knife. Hardy as heck. When left on their own, larger clumps produce a striking bloom display.
