I used to get an email every day from the Fine Gardening magazine called garden photo of the day. It seems the emails abruptly stopped. I have tried posting on their Facebook page, signing up again, but nothing. Did any of you get these emails and if so do you still get them?

I get them every day but I only signed up about 9-10 months ago. Maybe they just haven't gotten tired of me yet.

Well I did subscribe to the mag so I don't get the ad emails now - just realized that when I read your post, Cinta. But then I recently changed my email addy and, ooops, I have not told just everybody about that. Even the viagra emails have yet to catch up with me Rolling on the floor laughing

I bought a bunch of FG pubs, including several back issues of Container Gardening. Problem is, repetition. They use the same articles over and over again so I don't buy any more of them. I've also bought a couple of books from Timber Press and they don't bother me at all - to the point I have a tendency to forget about them altogether.

@CarolHB that is the reason I will not get a subscription. I have so many years of the magazine and repeat pics and basic over, and over of explain what makes a great pot Filler, Spiller, Thriller. I do not need to read that over and over. It is good when you are starting out and need ideas. But if there is no extra info, new combo pots in the magazine they do not need my 30.00. Do they know what 30.00 bucks in plants I could buy? Rolling on the floor laughing I can make some killer pots with that amount of money vs 6 issues of repeat info and pics.

"Pulezzz" is what I say to them.

@Cinta you are absolutely right. I just got started on this new garden project last summer after a hiatus of several years, so had to have everything every written, of course. When I decided I had to make my first quilt (g'child on the way, donchano), it cost me nearly $3K because I had to have everything. I won't renew with FG because so much just doesn't apply to me either zonewise or because I'm all containers all the time. I think I'll just sometimes get the 'Container Gardening' pub if a particular article appeals to me. Now that I'm getting more comfortable with putting more than one plant in one pot I've got my own ideas, too. There is one that I'm kinda going to copy, but I just want to.

I've been to HD twice today, Armstrong once (more begonia hiemalis), lunch with the "girls" and the grocery store and now the dog wants to take me for a walk. Really? Specific purpose purchases, tho. I'm getting way better about impulses since they don't fit anywhere and I wind up killing them anyway.
