I second all the valuable suggestions mentioned on this thread so far. The only advice I would make is for the potting soil. In my personal experience of potting soil, I found FoxFarm potting soil (
https://urlzs.com/Ns3c) beneficial to the roses. Then my local nursery recommended Recipe 420 potting soil.
The roses went crazy over it! I have not used another potting soil since then; if you could get your hands on Recipe 420, great! If not, FoxFarm will do wonders for the container roses.
