Hmmmmm.... maybe the cold faucet just has to eventually get the clay run out of the lines.

Thanks for the info. VERY MUCH! Our well is supposed to have go down around 150 ft. That's what the ave. is running for all the homes in that area. So a 3/4 horse pump should do good. They were sort of implying if I had a garden then I might need a 1 1/2 horse & hey, I ain't stoopid --- I do my checking before I jump. Pump prices rise steeply for every 1/2 horse.

Mind telling me what the pump ran --- cost wise? If not, I understand.

Oh & another thing --- is your well PVC pipe or galvanized?
