Country of origin?

This site gives all the groups with notes on hardiness and colours found in each group.. they also give uses for each group, such as cut flowers, beds, borders, rock gardens, containers, indoor forcing. Typical height for each group is given, that is something which you can't chose say for a 6" high tulip for a group with only tall tulips. Could the height be somehow linked to each group as standard?

On Wiki a 16th category was mentioned for multi-flowering tulips, although it's not an official category it is used on the above site and may be useful.

Div. 12: Kaufmanniana 4 - 12"

HARDINESS ZONES

Colour might be difficult as tulips don't have a corolla like daffodils, maybe a drop list for 'base colour' with another drop list for 'additional colours'? I have gone through and picked out all the colour examples just taking mostly the base colours, there's a lot! That's tulips for you! Hilarious! Maybe best to have a long single drop box with all colours and multiple selection?

Colours: Red, dark red, cherry red, crimson, scarlet red, vermillion red, blood red, raspberry, rose, light rose, dark rose, rosy pink, pink, deep pink, magenta pink, cherry pink, lilac pink, fuchsia, fuchsia pink, cream, white, ivory white, pale yellow, lemon yellow, yellow, golden yellow, bright yellow, butter yellow, orange, deep orange, reddish-orange, sherbet-orange, apricot, peach, purple-black, blue, purple, dark purple, mauve, mauve-purple, violet, violet purple, fuchsia purple, dark maroon, burgundy, green, bronze, dark red-brown

If searching for colour is still in the works Dave, I guess that means it won't be happening yet but it's good to be prepared.
