Ronnie.....sorry about the family illnesses. On the other hand congrats on the son's graduation and your soon to be babysitting free Saturdays. Big Grin Enjoy the free time.

Rosie...have to say I'm with your husband in that I like my pasta on the softer side too. Not mushy and overcooked but certainly not al dente. I find it too 'crunchy' and almost raw tasting and 'gummy'. Shrug!

As for Taco Bell I never had a problem with their food or their meat. The ones here seem to have their act together. There's only two I will go to because they are always clean and efficient. Now the McDonald's and Burger King hire some people I feel would fall into the 'challenged' category to be polite.

If you miss Taco Bell and want to recreate it I have a 'copy cat' recipe. It is pretty good. Use it with your ground beef to make tacos.

Copycat Taco Bell Taco Seasoning for Taco Meat

1 Tablespoon flour
1 Tablespoon corn starch
1 Tablespoon dried onion flakes
1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon onion salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon granulated sugar

Instructions:

1.) Combine and store in an airtight container.
2.) When ready to use, brown 1 pound of ground beef and drain.
3.) Add the seasoning mix plus 3/4 cup of water to the beef.
4.) Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and let simmer 10 minutes
5.) Serve with hard or soft taco shells and all the fixings. Enjoy! Drooling

This recipe doubles, triples and quadruples easily. A lot of times I'll mix up a big batch of seasoning, divide it and put it in individual baggies or little containers. That way whenever I want tacos I just grab a pre-made baggie/container of seasoning mix out of my spice cupboard and I'm good to go. Thumbs up

We are going out for dinner tonight. Hurray! YIPPEE, the kitchen will stay clean. No idea where or for what. Husband shall help me decide when he gets home about 4:00.
