They're good for lattices, arbors, and fences, but you could keep it pruned to a rounded bush shape if you want. Don't prune it until after it blooms, though. If you prune it before it blooms, you take the risk of cutting off the wood that's forming buds and then you'll have to wait a whole year until it blooms again.
