Betty, I don't know what your zone is, but in this zone 6b, the Sev's turn
somewhat mushy and a whitish green color, especially after the temps
get into the teens. They don't die all the way to the ground here, like the
dormants do. There are others here who can explain this much better than
I can.

It is very exciting to see those first blooms on your babies, and it is very
addictive, I think. You will absolutely love it.
