This is a graphic that was posted by a friend of mine and aroid expert who is an Administrator on one of the Facebook aroid pages that I belong to. It was done as a measure to answer the 'very FAQ' question from new aroid enthusiasts about their Monstera deliciosa cutting (both variegated and not variegated) and also other aroid cuttings that are rooted the same way. I have his permission to repost this.

This is the post he made on this subject, with a graphic:
"Please direct ALL questions on single node cuttings and advice for rooting to this post unless you feel yours is an exceptional case. Note that it is subject to deletion at the discretion of the Admins if it is not deemed to merit its own post.
This is an effort to reduce the redundant posts that we have had in the recent past on the same subject of cutting viability and rooting problems or advice. The attached image shows a heat map to gauge the quality of a cutting or plant that you receive. Note that this heat map is just indicative and not definitive.Use your judgement in assessing a good balance of the characteristics listed here. The rest of the post explains what each characteristic means and how to act based on it."

So maybe leave out the part that the post would be deleted if not deemed to merit its own post. But it would give people somewhere to look and compare their plant/cutting to a set of characteristics that might give them some better chance to know how to proceed.

This graphic was produced by people who are considered to be pretty expert in the cultivation of aroids specifically. Not generalists.

If its a NO POST that's ok. But it could be helpful to some people if they have a chart to compare their plant to and see what they might be able to expect from their individual situation.

Please, don't blast me with criticism for bringing this up. There is no ulterior motive, except to possibly help new people have a better chance in seeing in print how they should proceed with their rooting and planting procedures.

That is why I am asking the Admins here first, and not just posting this.
