Hi Karen,

Sorry it took me so long to reply. I started to draft an answer and got swamped with work. I've been off the forum for a few months and just jumped back in with a new Iris collection for Fall 2020!

In weddings the pale blush, pink, white, cream etc are going to stay the most popular. It's like neutral clothing. Pastelegance isn't in big production yet so I'll let you know if I see it increasing in availability as the roots get out there. The Lemon Chiffon of it's parentage is not super hardy in terms of floral design work but I found the Adelman's cut Pastelegance to hold up very well with 7-9 day vase life with a little floral food in the water.

Personally I love the reds, browns, black and novelty peonies for my design work but wedding clients in Spring do favor the pastels more. I wish more would do jewel tones when there's an abundance of gorgeous red peonies available but those are mostly Fall clients and I rely on dahlias for those weddings or in late Fall we get Coral and Reds from Chile and Israel.

Yellow peonies are tough to sell for clients, because they are such a sunny yellow. Golden yellows, mustard, ochre, toffee etc are becoming popular in design but I haven't seen any peony that falls into this color family. I also think blue based lavender and purples are coming back into fashion and I'm looking at adding some of those tones to my garden this year though I did that mostly with annuals and some bearded iris. I think I'm spending my Fall 2020 budget on iris so I'll be happy to enjoy the 10 new peonies I got from Solaris in Fall 2019 which are looking great in the ground. They're not in permanent spaces yet but I'll leave them in place until next Fall.

Hope all in the peony forrum are well, I'm trying not to be tempted-wish me luck!
