Oh, now I have another somewhat related question. Hope it's okay to ask it here too.
What is the naming convention on ATP when it comes to cultivar names that contain accents that are not part of the english language? Should the accents be dropped?
For example the daylily I added above is 'Clin d'oeil a Carole' on the AHS so that's how I added it to ATP. I believe the hybridizer is french-Canadian and on his (or her?) website lists it as 'Clin d'oeil à Carole'. The hybridizer has used 'Clin d'oeil à ___" as a naming scheme for several of his past intros. I did a search on ATP and currently there are duplicates of some of them added to the plant database--some with accents and some without:

Looking them up on the AHS database, I had trouble finding them at first, but they show up like this (perhaps it's just my computer but there are question marks in a few places in the names):

I noticed that this hybridizer's 2012 intros have all been added to the AHS database without accents though.
So is it safe to assume that accents should be dropped when adding cultivars like these to the ATP plant database?
