I had one of our interns go through most forums and unsticky most threads in forums last week.

She was told to ignore some of our forums that are actively moderated (I gave her a list) and I gave her criteria for unsticking everything else.

The reason for this was just a general cleanup in the forums. For example, the annuals forum had a sticky for planting petunias. There are many other examples of stickies that, while useful information, did not need to be stuck to the top of forums. These forums almost all came from roll-over sites, but were never cleaned up.

I let her know to use her best judgement as to the usefulness of the sticky, and that any forum moderator would let me know if I messed up Big Grin So, here we are. Green Grin!

My apologies if any of your forum's stickies were unnecessarily removed. Please feel free to add them back in. However, before you add them in, please take a moment to ensure that the sticky is useful information that really needs to be at the top of the forum, or if the information could be better suited in the side bar area of your forum (see the roses forum for inspiration).

Thanks for helping to keep our forums neat and tidy, and sorry for any inconveniences! I tip my hat to you.
