Orange You Glad It's Spring?
Near the western tip of the Mojave Desert , fields of poppies color the landscape a bright orange this spring. On April 14, 2020, the Operational Land Imager (OLI) on the Landsat 8 satellite acquired images of vast blooms in the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve. This image was acquired when poppy flowers in the valley were thought to be at or near their peak.
