Hello, I am new to having plants and I have never propogated before. I purchased this Philodendron a week ago. I love the plant but there is a huge empty spot in the soil. The plant looks great but I am concerned about it getting leggy. I would prefer a bushy plant. I am worried about pruning it and shocking the plant since it is new. But I would prune it is that meant in the long run that I would have a full plant. I am thinking about taking the cuttings and propagating them in the soil of its own pot. Also, I am considering using a rooting hormone powder for the aerial roots. Do you guys have any words of caution to a newbie? Or should I leave the plant alone?
