I haven't been adding too much new stuff in my garden. What is here seems to work. Lexie probably does more damage than the heat (creating paths through the beds). For that reason I've planted a few containers but not because of heat. I expect the prediction is for hotter temps this summer than even last (HOT) summer throughout the southwest. Nope... not adding anything new.
“Don't give up too quickly"... unknown, I heard it somewhere.
