I just want to also add the CD that comes with the book is interactive:
With the CD you'll not only get a Search Feature that searches by plant name, both common or botanical, but also lets you refine your search by categories such as:
Aquatic/Wet garden; Background Plant; Bird-attracting plant; Coastal garden; Color feature; Container plant; Cut/Dried flowers; Food/medicinal plant; Fragrant plant; Hedge/screen; Rock garden, and more.
The CD also contains a Garden Journal feature so you can plan your gardens, keep personal notes about various plants, make a wish list, etc! I plugged it in the other day and even a computer idiot like me found it easy to use. Here is a pic of the CD home page:
