I'm glad NiceGuyMax restarted this thread. I haven't been having much luck with coneflowers past few years. My first one & favorite was Big Sky 'Sundown" which bloomed for 4 yrs & 5th yr never returned. I've given up on the yellows, Now Cheesier & Sombrero Sandy Yellow which didn't make it thru the winter. I have a pile of tags & have started labeling the coneflowers. Could this one be Echinacea purpurea Ruby Star? Tag shows height 36-39." This one is topping at 4'!
