If you provide too much phosphorous - middle number in the fertilizer - then it causes calcium and other deficiencies. The phosphorous binds with the nutrients and you get chlorosis. You cannot get rid of the phosphorous except by having plants use it up. To solve the problem, you should only fertilize with nitrogen (urea) or ammonium sulfate - something that has the first number and a 0 for the second number. You can get your soil tested for $30 at various places to confirm. I tried to test my own soil and my results were vastly lower than the lab results. I have the same problem - so glad I got the soil tested so now I know. It also affected raspberries and swamp hibiscus and my zucchini before I knew that the problem was me, and high phosphorous fertilizer. The solution, again, is to not put any phosphorous on your plants for probably 5 years and then only if you get a test result where your level is well under 70 ppm.
