I recently read on one of the Caladium sales sites (and I can't remember which one) that in a warm climate where you will not have freezes you can just leave the bulbs in the container, allow it to dry out, cut any old leaves off and keep it in a cool but dry location like your garage. Come spring when the weather is reliably warm just start watering and once you see new leaves you can start fertilizing.
Minds are like parachutes; they work better when they are open.
