I have used Yankee drolls for many years. I never take them totally apart. I just remove the bottom cap to let a large bottle brush to slide through.

For the feeder ports I spray with a 10% bleach solution. I let it sit a few minutes then rinse well.
Once they get on towards, 15 years old, the plastic gets brittle. I would just buy a new droll.
Orchid lecturer, teacher and judge. Retired Wildlife Biologist. Supervisor of a nature preserve up until I retired.
