I have a few Droll Yankees Onyx Clever Clean tube type bird feeders. They have now been in service 5.5 years. Over time there have been a few hawk strikes resulting in broken seed trays and broken feeder tubes. That's when I found out that the breakage warranty really doesn't cover much. Also, in cleaning these things well, you often have to remove the metal feeding ports which entails removing the tiny socket head screw cap. I've lost more than a few and trying to find replacements can often be difficult. I finally got smart and bout a lot of 100 on ebay for just over $7. When I can find them locally, they are $0.40-0.67 each! So, if you're having trouble finding replacements, the Fastenere company on eBay was my source. Info on the socket head cap screws below:

Thumb of 2021-01-31/UrbanWild/0e9081

Type: Socket Head Cap Screw
Size: 6-32 x 3/8"
Drive size: 7/64
Material: Stainless Steel 18-8
Pkg Qty: 50 (though my lot basically came as two packets of 50)
842176101767

The title of the ebay listing was, "6-32 X 3/8" Socket Head Cap Screws Allen Drive Stainless Steel Bolt Qty 100"

Now if I could just find a source for the plastic tubes... Whistling

I have used Yankee drolls for many years. I never take them totally apart. I just remove the bottom cap to let a large bottle brush to slide through.

For the feeder ports I spray with a 10% bleach solution. I let it sit a few minutes then rinse well.
Once they get on towards, 15 years old, the plastic gets brittle. I would just buy a new droll.

I started removing the metal ports because I could see grime collect inside of them and after rains it would turn to slime. Further, I couldn't eat it away with a normal bleach bath and worried that I might be adding a source of food contamination that resulted from the wash into the slime areas which later wicks into the surrounding food.

They are already getting more brittle. Hot summer sun I guess. The company has been purchased by another company who already owns several feeder manufacturers. They apparently no longer make those feeders with plastic tubes but rather some sort of screening.

Just type in Droll feeder parts and sources will pop up! I just did and there were a couple of sources that seem to offer everything.
I didn't try to determine if the company exists but their feeders are for sale too!
My go to place for bird feeders, parts, etc. is "Duncraft". They have a fabulous web site.

Yes, your sun is stronger in Kentucky then here in Michigan but I have like a 4" droll tube feeder that I bought in Florida in 2009. It is with me here and working just fine. But I must admit, in Florida it was under a plum tree.

I have a couple of Duncraft as well but have not been to their site. I'll check it out.

Droll Yankees still exists. The company got bought out in 2017 by Classic Brands (classicbrands.net) who also owns More Birds, Stokes Select, and Squirrel-X in addition to Droll Yankees).
