I had such a bad slug problem that was eating more hostas than the deer. I do not know if this will help some but it helped me.
I stay in a lot of hotels due to the job. I do not drink coffee but they have 2 bags in the room every day. I save the coffee and put it in the garden in March.
No Shredded wood mulch. I only use shredded fall leaves and groundcover plants. My favorite is Roxanne geranium and a plant that many hate but I love it...Bishop Weed.
Shredded leaves are birds' dream, I can see my shade garden from my bedroom window there are 10 to 15 birds in the garden eating the slugs every morning,
Doing these things have made my Hosta Garden Slug free. Not one bite.
