We always advise folks to wait a month after bloom to divide beardeds. You can keep the rhizomes out of the ground for quite a while if you can't plant right away.
Great bletilla patch, Ursula. I moved my ochracea pot into a sunnier place, turned cold and several spikes shriveled up. Darn. Live and learn!
