As a follow-up after a few more years of observation...

Grounded pineapple remains and made an amazing pineapple last summer!

A little Jade in a mini garden has been OK the past few (mild) winters, lowest temps around 22̊.

Kleinia fulgens has survived, albeit deciduously.

Kalanchoe blossfeldiana is in a LOT of spots around my yard by now and there is no problem with root survival, a deciduous perennial. It's still necessary to bring stems inside to see blooms, but that's a pretty good arrangement for me. No need to keep it potted except during the coldest months. I've had several stems spend the winter in bottles of water, and the blooms had a faded color, but they did bloom.

The Sedeverias that I've left in various places over winter have done great! Staying evergreen and putting on beautiful reddish colors.

Euphorbia tirucalli is a bust, only a few pitiful sprigs manage to grow the next year.

Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi and marnieriana does not survive, or larger individuals of K. Houghtonii. But K. Houghtonii babies sure do. A solid carpet of them, but easy to remove with the back end of a flat rake.

Euphorbia tithymaloides seems to be worthwhile as a deciduous perennial, putting up enough new growth to be an interesting accent here or there.
The golden rule: Do to others only that which you would have done to you.

The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The 2nd best time is now. (-Unknown)
