I hear the katydids, but haven't seen any yet - Lake Jackson, about 55 miles south of Houston, 8 miles from Gulf.
This new, to me at least, guy showed up on May 2. Finally ID'd it as Dog Day Cicada - it's a bit early according to A&M.
So it's been sitting in the roots of my Angel Trumpet, just chewing away for who knows how long.
