We have Tulipa batalinii with Tulipa linifolia as a synonym, I tried to add Tulipa linifolia as we don't have an entry for the straight species but the system told me we already have it which we don't.

The Plant List gives Tulipa linifolia as accepted, with Tulipa batalinii as a synonym.

A search on the RHS gives both species, but with groups although the search for Tulipa batalinii doesn't give it as a straight species, it has only one entry for Tulipa batalinii (Batalinii Group) 'Salmon Gem' with the rest being Tulipa linifolia with (Batalinii Group) and named cultivars.

A search for Tulipa linifolia brings up the straight species along with the others as above except for the batalinii species cultivar, it would appear the T. batalinii one is wrong although it's been given accepted status on the RHS.

So, would it be appropriate to change the entry on ATP from Tulipa batalinii to Tulipa linifolia Batalinii Group and remove the synonym? Then I could add Tulipa linifolia with batalinii as a synonym. As it is I can't put Tulipa linifolia anywhere.

Do we need to add the synonym with the genus name, or just the species, this entry has both genus and species as a synonym.
