Look around you where you see landscapers planting for others and I bet if you asked, they'd be glad to give them to you. Just yesterday, the man that does my prunning and mulching gave me about 2 dozen 4 in. pots. plus the tray they fit in. I'll wash them in diluted clorox water sometime this weekend.
I need to get out and water the plants that he planted for me yesterday..2 peonies,3 iris and a daylily.
Watered them yesterday afternoon after they left but it's supposed to be in 90's all weekend, was 89 yesterday so I'm sure they'd appreciate another drink.

Sheryl, I bet if you posted your request for free pots on a forum that is in your gardening area, you'd get some donations. It's worth a try! Last Fall one of the gals on the our Mid-Atlantic gardening forum posted an offer to give away nursery pots and I was either the first to respond or only one. I had met this lady at my first plant swap and she sent an email asking what size I wanted..and the next morning I went and picked them up. all sizes with my name on them sitting in front of her garage. I bet there was about 30 or 40..doesn't take much to make me happy! Sent her an Email back to Thank Her and also wrote a Thank You note and mailed it to her.
