Thanks Valerie, Zoia and Nan! I have a hard time picking favorites, they are all interesting to me. Can't wait to plant seeds and see the new seedlings next year!
Wow, interesting what happens with the search button! I never paid much attention to it as long as it shows me what I'm looking for.
Jamie's cristate is lovely, distinctive and showing variation in the shape of the cristation like we see in the tets. Looks like it has a nice plant under it too. His Emperor's Crocodile, one of the parents of Heavenly Bearded Lady, also shows variation in the cristate shape and placement. This goes to show that using cristate forms from other hybridizers, and outcrossing to daylilies that may not show cristation, is important to the advancement of the diploid cristate forms.
It's also great to see well known hybridizers like Gossard, Derrow, Reeder, Faulkner, Rich, Seifert and Jim Elliott are registering their crested dips correctly as Sculpted cristate forms.
I happen to like the dip cristate forms too, even if they have been so predictable. I've been growing & hybridizing dip Sculpted forms along with my main focus, the tet Sculpted forms, for many years.
Here's a few images of diploid Sculpted cristate forms from our database. I hope to add a few more images to the database next year.
