I saw what I'm pretty sure was a Monarch on the remaining blooms of the Turk's Cap in the front yard yesterday. He flew away just as I went from the window to the door to get a closer look. Sigh. I guess it's possible it could have been a Fritillary, but from inside my livingroom vantage point, I'm pretty certain it had black in all the right places and was a Monarch.
