That's fantastic, Grapus! And quite early flowering for martagons. Did you plant the seeds inside and get an extra year's jump on growth, or did you plant them and leave them outside? Yes the seeds I sent you were open pollinated, and from the three cultivars you mention.

a Couple of my earliest martagon seedlings are blooming now, and Claude Shride and Terrace City have just begun.

Anthony, congratulations on the Lilium callosum connection! I have found them to be quite vigorous and precocious from seed. I grew these from seed collected in Kedrovaya in the Russian far east in the little part of Russia that is between China and Japan.

They bloomed in the third year from seed, but had I taken better care it would have been earlier. There are twelve seedlings in a little3.5 x 3.5 x 5 inch (9 x 9 x 13cm) pot!
