I don't see any inconsistency from my plant to other pics of G. paraguayense that are at websites... that should have some degree of accuracy. It's so cumbersome to wade past all of the other pic sources that come up in image searches.

Evan, I appreciate your input to ensure accuracy of the plant database, and thank you for your comments. But without some detail to compare, just saying it looks more like this or that makes it hard to discuss. I'm happy to consider any ID comments you have, if I can see what you are looking at.

Share that pet peeve with you! There are some instances of that on the plant database on this site and various objections of mine are on the record. I don't believe this plant exists:
Purple Heart (Tradescantia pallida 'Purpurea')
or this one:

or this one, represented by only 1 unrealistic pic.:
Tradescantia pallida 'Kartuz Giant'

It's easy to manipulate leaf size, hue, and even from green to purple or purple to green, to a noticeable degree based on culture and exposure. They're just T. pallida in different settings. Nobody ever claimed to have made these cultivars. "Purpurea" is a synonym species name, Setcreasea purpurea. And "purple heart" was always the nickname, at least it was in the old black'n'white houseplant books I had. T. purpurea, common name purple heart.

Baja, if you move the pics, please move all with my name, they are the same plant. The descriptions could use a little tweaking if the flower colors indicated there aren't correct.

Thank you very much x2!
