I grew Black Krim because I couldn't find Cherokee Purple, and I didn't like it at all. Others have raved about it, but I won't buy another one. Mine cracked too, and just didn't do well. I got Cherokee Purple as a gift from a friend because I've got a little Cherokee in me, and now all my friends insist that they do too, so that I'll share the tomatoes with them! I told them that they'll have to buy their own, because I eat them all myself. They really are that good!

I grew a grape tomato last year called Sugary, which was delicious, but forgot to get one this year. I also grow a couple of regular grape tomatoes, yellow plum, yellow cherry (which is actually orange), as well as Roma and Celebrity, which grow really well here. I've given up on the heirlooms as they never seem to do well for me. My neighbor grows only heirlooms, but always seems to be at my front door begging for tomatoes! Brandywine is a flop here too. I've tried it for three years, and won't bother with it again. It just takes up room! I almost bought Mortgage Lifter because of the name, but couldn't find anyone at the nursery that had grown it. I'll wait to hear the reviews on it before I take a chance.

The little tomatoes (grape, yellow plum & yellow cherry) never seem to make it into the house! My friends all come over and we just graze off of the plants! They are so good!
