OK, about the poor seedlings into the water/sand, they probably rotted immediately or sooner. There was no "after" photo! haha
I'll have to try grafing again, I'm getting too many pinks. And, hey! Maybe surveyor's tape! Available at larger hardware stores. Awfully bright colors, but it's really stretchy.
