I have a Queen Palm, they are not the prettiest of palms. Queen Palms like ample water, so I really don't think you overwatered. But, I am concerned when you say it doesn't feel secure in the soil. It sound like your problem is the transplant itself. If you don't want to get rid of it, I would dig it up to see what's going on down there. If it's been 4 months and you have been watering it, it shouldn't be moving around.
