Patrob just brought this to my attention that we are doing things differently in the iris database. And I know this was discussed with Dave before somewhere. We are allowing the unregistered irises in the database. The AIS has a strong registry also, but the iris industry is being inundated with Dutch grown irises that have made up names.

What we are doing is allowing the iris in the database, and then noting it's unregistered and therefor may be variable.

Thing is, a lot of plants have no registry. And I know a lot of people are buying the unregistered irises, so how can we exclude them? They're out there for sale. I think it's better to include them, and make note that they're unregistered.

Daylilies may be different for some reason.

We already had one good example with Iris ensata Pink Lady

Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Pink Lady')
