I love Epis also i only have one at this time lost my whole collection to freeze few years ago how many different kinds do you have? Mine is i find the most common most call it lady of the night ....the Jamaican lady that gave me a leaf years ago called it the prostitute plant ....because she only shows her stuff at night and has a scent that will draw people for blocks
i did not know anything about them and she would not tell me what it was she just tole me to stick it in dirt and water and sit back you will be amazed and that i was.
That's terrible that you lost your whole collection. That's funny that she called it the prostitute plant lol. I always call it queen of the night. I started my epi collection last year. First I started with epiphyllum oxypetalum that a friend gave me in a trade, then I joined an epi group and a member sent me a few different cuttings. I lost my German Empress cuttings and a few others. Right now I have Alter Ego, one called 'Shingleton' I couldn't find it online, but the guy that gave me the cutting got it from Germany and that's what it was called. He said it looks similar to epiphyllum oxypetalum only fuller. I also have a NoID red, Rose Queen, and a NoID variety that looks similar to Tyrolean, but with a little more orange. Last week I got some cuttings of Three Oranges, Diva, Marilyn Monroe, Stormy Weather, Coral Dance and Chiba's Lovely Dawn. I'm hoping they root since its been very hot and humid here.
