If you would be at the point where you have something you might want to consider registering, do you, or have you sent a division of your plant to someone in the south to see how it performs...to include bud count, branching etc?

I've inquired at other times what's the least bud count one might require if they are considering it for registration. I have a difficult time with this since probably 98% of my plants don't produce the bud count the hybridizers or AHS websites list.

I just love Ashton's Giggles which is listed at 20 buds. The average bud count for this cultivar in my garden is 7 or 8 per scape. If this was one of my crosses I would not consider registering it because of the bud count even though it is a beautiful flower on a wonderful plant overall and when there are several scapes that are in bloom it is amazing. I know plants produce better in the south which is the reason for my inquiry.

Thoughts? Thanks

Edited to add a photo of Ashton's Giggles....
