They are just lovely, Lin and Hetty. My one Pitaya bud has blasted, I think. It is browning, and mushy but still not open. I am a night owl, stay up to watch the news at 11 so I walk out after that to check on the night bloomers. Pretty sure I did not miss it.

I did find out that the hummingbird moths (which are pollenators for the Pitaya) are very attracted to my hedychiums, though! Heard the fluttering, shined the light on the ginger blossoms and caught their bright little eyes hovering around the flowers. They move too fast to take a picture in the dark, sadly.

There's a huge old epi on a tree in the parking lot over at Selby. Next time we're driving by at night, we'll definitely venture in there to get a picture, maybe the car's headlights will provide enough light.
