This looks like a good thread to ask some questions about the care of OGR's...In the little public garden where I volunteer, there are several OGR's such as Mme., Isaac Perriere, Variegata de Bologna, Old Blush (Parson's Pink, Monthly rose); Barbara's Pasture Rose (a "found" OGR that is actually thought to be La Reine); Paul Neyron. So I am wondering how these are treated the same or differently than modern HT's/Fl., mini.s, etc., when it comes their care, especially fertilizing. I am advised to keep them confined to what I consider a small border space (maybe 5'X5'X5' or less for each one). Also do you remove all of the previous year's foliage before new spring growth as is done with HT's? Any other major do's or don't's that are different than care for modern roses? Thank You!
