I have a very small esophagus and have always had trouble swallowing pills. For vitamins I always had to do the children's chewable's until they finally came out with adult chewable vitamins so those are the ones I usually buy. Last year I was at Sam's Club and found adult "Gummy Vitamins" which are what I take daily now and they have Vitamin D.
